Obituary of Herman Kent

HERMAN KENT OLEAN - Herman R. Kent, formerly of East State Street died Monday November 24, 2003 at the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Olean. Born in Meadville, PA on September 21, 1926 he was a son of Thomas and Lucinda Smith Kent. Mr. Kent was a graduate of Olean High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed as a machinist at Dresser-Clark prior to his retirement. Herman loved music, dancing and having fun. He is survived by three sons Nathan Kent, Jerry Kent and Vincent Kent; a daughter Debra (Angel) Ferrer, all of Olean; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Herman Kent, Jr. in 1983, a brother Oscar Stainback and a sister Dixie Gayton. Friends will be received on Wednesday November 26, 2003 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral; Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at which time funeral and committal services will be conducted. Rev. R. Stanley Parks, pastor of Mt. Zion Christian Assmbly will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, veteran's field of honor. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
