Obituary of Lester Hare

Lester R. Hare Allegany, NY Lester R. Hare, 97, of 1462 Two Mile Rd. died Thursday (May 10, 2012) in the Olean General Hospital. Born December 19, 1914 in Northeast, PA he was the son of William J. and Norma L. Weber Hare. He was predeceased by two wives, Ada Sheets Hare in 1957 and Elizabeth Pettnot Hare in 1975. On September 18, 1976 he married Virginia M. Waters who survives. Mr. Hare worked for many years as a truck driver for the transportation industry including Lyons Transportation, Frontier Delivery and Boss-Linco, all of Olean. He was a former member of the Teamsters Union and a life member of the Olean Moose Lodge. Surviving besides his wife are three sons George (Mary) Zink of Freedom, Daniel (Karen) Zink of Freedom and Thomas (Gail Church) Zink of Allegany; nine step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; two adopted grandsons Nicholas German and Les Allen German; one sister Verna Perino of Erie, PA and several nieces and nephews including William (Phyllis) Hare of Hinsdale. In addition his wives he was predeceased by a daughter Carol German in 1971; one sister Viola Rudolph and one brother Horace Hare. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Sunday from 7-9pm and on Monday (May 14, 2012) from 11:00am until time of services at 1:00pm. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Silver Creek, NY. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Allegany Fire Department.
