Pezz was indeed one of a kind, he was the heart of Allegany and there will never be another like him. I spent 22 years with the New York State Police, many in and around Allegany, and no matter the shift I was on I was never surprised to find him on duty as either THE fire chief or THE police chief ready and willing to do whatever was needed for his town.

Pezz: In the 10 years I worked at St. Bonaventure, everytime I had to call 911 for a fire alarm, you always answered. Your wit and laughter will always be remembered. The e-mail below went out to 300 fans of 40s, 50s and 60s stock car racing in WNY, NWPA and Ontario Ford Easton Well another driver many of us all knew passed away yesterday. That is two in the last two weeks with Lee Bliss and now Pezz from Allegany, NY, but as they say dying is a part of living. I talked with Pezz several months ago and he wasn't in the best of spirits and felt quite lonely. I learned several weeks ago from another friend that he had been diagnosed with cancer and that the prognosis of a recovery wasn't that good. Pezz attended everyone of the CLR reunions from 2003 on and I always enjoyed seeing and talking with him each July. The friend that informed me this afternoon of his passing said he had a coffee with him earlier in the week and he was looking forward to attending again this year. Well Pezz you will be there in spirit. I can remember how much we all enjoyed seeing him run at many tracks but for me it was Angelica and Olean in his "Ace" or 1. Allegany will never be quite the same with out seeing and talking to "Pezz" when I'm there. "Pezz" will always be a Man that the rest of us can only hope to measure up to in our lifetime! I was telling my kids a story about growing up in Allegany, and Pezz was the focal point of the story. Not only did he look out for all of Allegany, he really took an interest in us as kids, and what we were up to. I really respected him for that. One thing I learned early on: Pezz knew everything, so there was no use lying to him. To the Pezzimenti family, I am so sorry for your loss. He was truly a great man. His memory will always be alive in Allegany and with he people that live, and have lived there. My deepest condolences.
