I can honestly say I never saw Eddie without a smile on his face. His love of life, and his life full of vigor will be what I remember most about him. Whenever anyone I knew tried to guess his age, they were never within 15 years of his correct age. The old gang now can all be together once again! Ed, you will be missed, but never ever forgotten.

To Wintermantel family and friends, Ed Wintermantel was without question one of the greatest men I have ever known. Always smiling, always kind and generous. He was the patriarch of Allegany. He and Marge had the gift of making people feel special. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Dan, Peter, Prim, & Mikel, Words seem so inadequate at a time like this, but having lived next door to you all for my entire childhood, I will truly miss seeing him on my yearly journey home. Since my own folks have gone on to be with the Lord, it seemed so fitting to continue to visit yours. Wow! Your father was most certainly a remarkable man! But then you all knew that, having had the always-apparent love and devotion he had for all of you, as well as the rest of his family. Many times I witnessed the sparkle in his eyes whenever he would talk about his children and grandchildren. He and Marge have left a multi-generational legacy by passing on all of their wonderful qualities to each of you, and I know you have made them proud parents and grandparents. Thank you for sharing your incredible father with me all these years. With Love, Hugs, and God's Blessings to help you through this difficult time, Bette Anne Moyer Phoenix, Arizona

I want to offer my thoughts and prayers to the entire family. I have fond memories of Mr. Wintermantel as he always had a genuine interest in people, an insatiable curiosity and always had time for me. I will never forget the time that the Wintermantels gave me a ride back to college in Providence, R.I. Michael was attending RI School of Design at the time. Mrs. Wintermantel and I believe, Prim were along for the trip. I remember having to stop the car prior to crossing any bridges (i.e. Rip Van Winkle Br. over the Hudson) to allow Mr. Wintermantel to cuddle up with Mrs. Wintermantel in the back seat. What a great and loving couple ! All my love, John Sweeney Cypress, Texas
