Obituary of Diane McCaffery

Diane M. McCaffery Allegany, NY Diane M. McCaffery of 1877 Chipmonk Rd. died Saturday (March 3, 2012) in the Olean General Hospital. Born November 14, 1957 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Richard S. Watson and Joyce E. Ervin Watson. Diane was a 1975 graduate of Hinsdale Central School and had resided in the area most of her life. She formerly worked for Ron's Smoke Shop in Vandalia and more recently worked for Synergy Co. in Salamanca. She will be remembered for her love of animals and for the pleasure of being home where she could care for her family and all her pets including horses, dogs, birds and chickens. She also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Surviving are one son Jason (Jen) Watson and one granddaughter, Violet, all of Allegany; her mother Joyce Watson of Allentown and her father Steve (Beth) Watson of Olean. In addition she is survived by her brothers, Rod Watson of Olean and Jeff Watson of Fort Walton Beach, FL and his son Shawn Watson; one sister Terri Paiz of Oak Harbor, WA and her children Stephen, Stacie, Samuel and Shari Paiz and two nephews Seth and Cory Prentice of Allentown. She was predeceased by one sister Sandy Prentice in 2005 and a niece Sarah Dawn Paiz. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday from 6-8pm. Funeral and committal services will follow at 8pm in the funeral home with Rev. Michael Sanders, pastor of the Five Mile Baptist Church in Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar. Memorials, if desired, may be made to an animal related charity of the donor's choice.
