Obituary of Barbara Marvin

Barbara R. Marvin Allegany, NY Barbara R. Marvin, a longtime resident of Allegany, passed away Monday (February 6, 2012). Born May 26, 1939 in Bradford, PA she was the daughter of Richard P. and Audrey F. Johnson Bunker. On May 24, 1958 in Knapp Creek she married Jack A. Marvin who predeceased her December 25, 1985. Early in her working career she had been employed by the Allegany Elementary School as a library aide and also at the Allegany Community Federal Credit Union. For many years she co-owned and operated several businesses including Career Consultants Employment Agency, Teaching Tools of Olean and most recently the former Union News in Olean until her retirement. She most enjoyed the times with her family where she centered her life on her children and grandchildren. Surviving are one son Bret (Nancy) Marvin of Allegany; two daughters Leslie (Michael) Bouchard of Rocklin, CA and Stacy (Scott) Seip of Allegany; three grandchildren Jack (Nicole) Marvin, Sean (Nicole Langworthy) Marvin and Will Seip; one great grandson Blake Marvin; two sisters Susan L. Bunker of Allegany and Sharon L. (Charles) Burdick of Portville and several nieces, nephews and a cousin. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by one brother Larry Bunker. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday (February 9, 2012) at 11:00am in the funeral home. Rev. Robert Goode will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
