Obituary of Frederic Printz

Allegany- Frederic A. "Fred" Printz of S. Nine Mile Road, passed away Wednesday (December 28,2011) at the Olean Genreal Hospital after a long illness. Born October 02, 1929 in Jamestown, NY, he was the son of Frederic A. and Evelyn Merz Printz. On November 4, 1961 in Quantico, MD, he married Sally Saudners, who predeceased him on July 3,1983. Fred was a graduate of Warren High School in Warren, PA and received his Bachelor of Science degree in business from John Hopkins University. He enlisted in the United States Army from 1952-1954, serving during the Korean War. From 1959 until its closing, he managed The Printz Co.in Olean. Fred was a life member of the American Philatellic Association and a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity at John Hopkins University. He was an avid and known expert in stamp collecting. He enjoyed gardening and his pets. Surviving are his two children Mark Printz of Allegany and Saralynn (David) Ahlquist of Columbia, S.C.; and several nieces and a nephew. Besides his wife he was predeceased by a sister Sally Printz and a half sister Jill Ginelle Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Tuesday (January 3, 2012) for a memorial visitation from 4 until 6pm at which time services will begin. Rev. James Vacco will officiate. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Canticle Farms, South Nine Mile Road Allegany or to the Allegany Volunteer Fire Department.
