Obituary of Vivian Scott

Vivian V. Scott Richburg, NY Vivian V. Scott of 2595 E. Notch Rd. died Thursday (July 21, 2011) at Millard Fillmore Hospital Gates Circle after a brief illness. Born December 14, 1928 in West Union, NY she was the daughter of Clyde and Anna Smith Shellman. On April 20, 1946 in Richburg she married Kenneth Scott who predeceased her January 1, 2005. Mrs. Scott worked for Acme Electric Co. in Cuba. During the time she was a young married adult at age thirty one she contracted polio which she fought successfully enough to overcome most of the handicaps afflicted upon her. She was an independent woman who raised a family, took care of a home and also cared for elderly in their home. She also loved to read, work crossword puzzles and do home canning and gardening. Surviving are one daughter Suzanne Eaton of Dunkirk; one son Everett (Deborah) Scott of Bolivar; seven grandchildren Chris, Kelly, Melissa, Jason, Cassie, Kenny and Taylor; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by one daughter Rozanne Grover on November 22, 2006 and two brothers Clyde Shellman and Claude Shellman. At Mrs. Scott's request there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held Monday (July 25, 2011) at Maple Lawn Cemetery. Rev. David Herne of Heritage Aflame Ministries will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Richburg Volunteer Ambulance Fund.
