Obituary of Irene Dieteman

Irene E. Dieteman Allegany, NY Irene E. Dieteman of 11 Chestnut St. passed away peacefully Saturday (May 28, 2011) in the Olean General Hospital. Born July 7, 1913 in Otto, NY she was the daughter of Frank J. and Ella Phillips Hebner. On May 16, 1942 in Allegany she married Paul J. Dieteman, Sr. who predeceased her April 19, 1986. Mrs. Dieteman was a graduate of Cattaraugus High School and the Bradford, PA School of Nursing. She had been employed as an RN at the Bradford Hospital and later as an obstetrics nurse at the former St. Francis Hospital. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who also loved bowling, gardening and especially knitting. Surviving are one daughter Rosalie A. (Phillip Bernstein) Dieteman of Allegany; seven grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by two sons Paul J. Dieteman and Marshall L. Dieteman; one daughter Diane E. Elliott; two great granddaughters and two sisters Viola Rosell and Mertie Gross. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Tuesday from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday (June 1, 2011) at 1:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Dr, Suite 6 Williamsville, NY 14221 or to the Allegany Fire Department.
