Obituary of Rita Raymond

Rita L. Raymond Williamstown, MA Rita L. Raymond, 90, formerly of Adams Rd., Williamstown, MA died peacefully April 20, 2011 while visiting her daughter in Allegany, NY. Rita was born in North Adams, MA, the daughter of Louis N. and Valeria Dumouchel St. Pierre. She married Francis R. Raymond on February 9, 1944, in North Adams; he predeceased her on January 1, 1969. Rita attended grammar school at Holy Family School in Greylock, MA and also Drury High School in North Adams. She resided for most of her life in Williamstown. She had formerly worked as a hairdresser with her sisters and father at St. Pierre's Beauty Salon. She was a member of St. Raphael's Church in Williamstown. Rita enjoyed bird watching and especially loved being the perfect "Mim" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving her are five children: Arthur (Cheryl) Raymond of Wallace, NC, Larry (Nancy) Raymond of Boulder, CO, Valerie Hoag of Pittsburg, CA, Theresa (David) Raymond Levine of Allegany, and Susie (Jon) Reder of Raymond, ME; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Rachel (Bob) Sindermann of Austin, TX; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by brothers Albert, Wilfred, and Arthur and sister Bertha and Laura. The family will hold a memorial gathering in celebration of her life at a later date, with burial in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown. Condolences may be left online at oleanfuneralhome.com.
