Allegany-- Clark D. Tucker, Jr. of 3927 Old State Road, Allegany, passed away Sunday (December 26, 2010) at his home, with his wife by his side.
Born July 8, 1943 in Cuba, NY, he was the son of Clark and Jane Tucker, Sr. On March 21, 1964 in Caneadea NY, he married Sandra Higley, who survives.
Clark was a graduate of Belfast Central School, class of 1961 and attended Alfred State College. He was employed for the NYS Department of Transportation for 36 years. When he retired in 1998 he had been an Assistant Resident Engineer in the Friendship Maintenance office for the past 14 years. Later, he did private engineering consulting for various construction firms.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA and the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. Clark loved fine woodworking, building guns and hunting. He was an avid sportsman who loved skeet shooting with his friends and family. He also enjoyed reading western novels.
Surviving besides his parents of Caneadea and his wife, are 3 daughters Rebecca (Barry) Shields of Allegany, Michelle (Gregg) Boser of Bradford, PA, Barbara (Thomas) Jones of Warren, PA; 5 grandchildren Kevryn Boser, Tyler Boser, Alexis Shields, Sara Jones, Megan Jones; 3 brothers John (Bonnie) Tucker, William (Becky) Tucker and Joel (Linda) Tucker; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Sophie.
He was predeceased by his father-in-law.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road Olean on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm and on Wednesday (December 29, 2010) from 10-11am, at which time funeral services will begin. Rev. John Woodring, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Allegany,will officiate.
