Obituary of Douglas Stout

Douglas James Stout Allegany, NY Douglas J. Stout, 65, of 3911 Old State Rd. went home to be with the Lord on Friday (December 10, 2010) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born February 4, 1945 in Coudersport, PA he was a son of Robert and Thelma Campbell Stout. On June 13, 1982 at the Allegany Baptist Church he married Lorraine Hamilton who survives. Mr. Stout was a 1964 graduate of Portville Central School. He worked in a heating business with his father and later for Keystone Tool and Die Co. More recently he was employed as a janitor for the Allegany Baptist Church until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed reading, music and being with his friends and family. He previously taught Sunday school and was a current member and deacon at the Allegany Baptist Church. He also sang in the church choir. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Bethany (Brandon) Peters of Wellington, OH and Angela (Adam) Di Strola of Olean; five grandchildren; one brother Dale (Glenna) Stout of Clyde, OH; one sister Delayne (Rick) Geesy of Fremont, OH; an aunt Florence Stout of Allegany; an uncle James (Ellamay) Campbell of Coudersport, PA; his mother-in-law Flora Hamilton of Allegany; four cousins and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, father, several aunts, uncles and a niece. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 7-9pm and again on Tuesday (December 14, 2010) from 11:00am until noon at the Allegany Baptist Church. Services will follow the viewing at noon. Rev. Frank Hayman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allegany Baptist Church.
