Obituary of Marjorie Seeley

Marjorie Ann Seeley Olean, NY -- Marjorie Ann Seeley, a five year resident of The Absolut of Houghton, passed away Tuesday (September 14, 2010) in the Olean General Hospital. Born March 11, 1935 in Limestone, NY she was the daughter of Newell T. and Grace Owens Seeley, Sr. Ms. Seeley was a 1953 graduate of Friendship Central School. She had been employed in 1954 at Clark Bros Co. in Olean as an accounting clerk and retired from Dresser Rand Co in 1990 as a secretary, having resided in Olean from 1954 until 2005. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean where she had been a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, served on the interim Liturgy Committee of the first Parish Council, and later served as a member of the Liturgy Committee, the Publicity Committee and as secretary to the Parish Council for many years. She was also a Eucharistic Minister. Surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Betty Jane Seeley Doran and 2 brothers Forrest L. Seeley, Sr. and Newell Thompson Seeley, Jr. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (September 17, 2010) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
