Obituary of Helen Anderson

Helen C. Anderson Allegany, NY Helen C. Anderson of 150 E. Union St. died Tuesday (August 17, 2010) in the Absolut of Allegany. Born July 28, 1920 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of Clarence and Clara Schuman Dieteman. On February 17, 1958 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany she married Carl J. Anderson who predeceased her February 28, 1985. Mrs. Anderson was a 1938 graduate of Olean High School and attended Westbrook Commercial Academy in Olean. She had a 40 year career with S. M. Flickinger Co., Inc. of Buffalo, having worked as an accountant in the Olean office. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was previously a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and she also was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed doing crafts and also baking and cooking with her nieces. Surviving are a brother Robert J. Dieteman of Orlando, FL and several nieces and nephews, including Elaine Haberland of Wyoming and Eileen King of N. Tonawanda. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (August 20, 2010) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
