JOSEPH J. ROSS, JR KENMORE, NY - Joseph J. Ross, Jr. a resident of the Kenwell Adult Community and formerly of Olean died Friday April 11, 2003. Born in Olean on August 8, 1924 he was the son of Joseph J. and Mabel Visengard Ross. Upon graduating, Mr. Ross served in the United States Army during WWII. Following the war, he was employed for Ka-Bar Cutlery for many years prior to retirement. He had been a resident of the Amherst area for the past 16 years. Mr. Ross was very caring of others, especially to his family. He is survived by a sister, Betty Jean Ross of Grand Island, a niece Gail Earon, two great nieces, Tina Nix and Tonya Edwards, a great-great niece, three great-great nephews and several cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Earon Jackson who predeceased him in 1998. There will be no public visitations. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday April 14, 2003 at 12:00 noon at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean. Rev. Gregory Dobson pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Memorials may be made to Veteran's Administration Hospital, Buffalo, NY.
