Obituary of Lillian Rose

Lillian R. Rose Olean, NY-- Lillian R. Rose, formerly of 1605 W. Henley Street, and a long time resident of the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean passed away Saturday (April 24, 2010) at the Pines. Born January 12, 1928 in Olean, she was the daughter of George and Rosetta Lippert Rose. Miss Rose was a resident of Olean most of her life and was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Olean. Along with her sister Evelyn, she co-authored the church cookbook. She was active in the YMCA for many years and was always caring for others. She was a former member of the Silver Cross Circle of the International Order of King's Daughters and Sons and was a charter member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Surviving are a nephew Jeffrey M. Rose of Rochester Hills, MI; a niece Cherie Whitcher of Allegany; and several close friends. She was predeceased by a brother George E. Rose, Jr. and a sister Evelyn J. Rose. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held Thursday (April 29, 2010) at 1:00pm in the First Presbyterian Church in Olean. Rev. Eileen Borduin Vanderzwan, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean, NY.
