Alice A. Fye Olean-Alice A. Fye, 74, of 1495 Indiana Avenue died Tuesday (April 13, 2010) at the Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, with her family at her side. Born August 14, 1935 in Olean, NY she was the daughter of McKinley W. and Margaret M. Whitcher Blake. On October 26, 1951 she married William A. Fye, who predeceased her on September 6, 1994. Mrs. Fye loved her grandchildren and enjoyed all the time she spent with them. To her grandchildren, Gram was always full of love and hugs. Surviving are 1 daughter Sally Ann (Elvin) Springstead of Olean; 3 sons Arthur W. (Sally) Fye of Olean, David J. (Kathy) Fye of Olean, James J. Fye of Hinsdale; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers LeRoy Blake of Cuba, Paul (Linda) Blake of Portville; 1 sister Elsie (Robert) Watkins of Tucson, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a 2 brothers McKinley Blake and Arthur Blake; 1 sister Virginia Price; and a sister in law Betty Blake. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road Olean on Thursday from 6-8pm at which time funeral services will begin. Rev. Bert Tidlund, pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Hornell, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Memorials if desired may be made to the Cuba Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
