My sincere condolences to all of Jason's family and friends. I was shocked and saddened when I learned of his passing. It was so hard to believe that someone who was so full of life was no longer with us. I got to know Jason when he was at RIT and served as the Director of Development for our college. Jason was the most effective Development person I ever worked with. At every place he worked, he delivered significant increases in gifts acquired. In our situation, he figured out how to do that while having to deal with less than ideal arrangements. My favorite memories of Jason will be the times I got to know him when we stopped the seriousness of work and shifted to the times of friendship. You could not escape feeling how much he cared for everyone he called a friend. His humor was second to none. It was quick, on point, and often irreverent. Many times I have recounted to others some of Jason's humor that had me doubled over in laughter and tears. I will miss him greatly. The attached photo was taken in the summer of 2015 at a birthday party for him when he visited Rochester. I'm sure that Jason had just made some wisecrack that had us laughing. I (Jim Vallino) am on the right, and our colleague, Fernando Naveda, is on the left.
