C. Anne Hardiman Allegany-C. Anne Hardiman, 81, of North Second Street, in Allegany, passed way Sunday (July 19, 2009) at the Olean General Hospital, after a long illness. She was born July 10, 1928, in Utica, she was a daughter of Edwin and Helen Burns Waterman. She graduated from Utica Catholic Academy. In 1952, she married Richard J. Hardiman, who passed away in 1981 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Mrs. Hardiman had lived in Allegany for the past forty-five years and was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. She will forever be remembered for her wit and sense of humor. She loved reading, flowers and her pet bird, "Jack'. Surviving are five sons; John Hardiman or Albuquerque N.M., Paul (Susan Vail) Hardiman of Allegany, Matthew (Toni) Hardiman or Fairport, David (Roberta) Mack-Hardiman of Buffalo, Philip Hardiman of Allegany; three daughters Kate Hardiman of Livonia, Roseanne Hardiman of Allegany, Molly Higgins of Allegany; nine grandchildren, Travis (Sherry) Hardiman and Brianna (Peter) Borrelli all of Rochester, NY, Richard and Alexa Hardiman of Fairport, NY, Max, Eli and Eden Mack-Hardiman of Buffalo, Elizabeth and Kathryn Higgins of Allegany; a great-grandson Emmett Hardiman of Rochester; four brothers George Waterman of Utica, Neil (Peggy) Waterman of Whitesboro, Mark (Jo) Waterman of Utica, William (Phyllis) Waterman of Westmoreland; 4 sisters Helen (Philip) Reese of Buzzard's Bay, MA, Mary (late Russel) Milioto of East Syracuse, Paula (Robert) Cummings of New Hartford; Peg Waterman of Utica; 2 special "grandchildren" Danny and Meg Vail; and numerous nieces and nephews and their children. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, India Mack-Hardiman; two sisters Clare (late Joseph) Calogero, Colleen (Thomas) Reagan; and a brother, Peter (late Enith) Waterman. At Mrs. Hardiman's request, her body has been donated to the University of Buffalo Medical School. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Private Burial services will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a bouquet of flowers to an old friend or someone in need. Donations may be made to the Allegany Fire Department, Allegany NY
