James B. Boyle, Jr. Olean, NY-James B. Boyle, Jr. of 126 N. 11th St., recently of Eden Heights died Tuesday (July 7, 2009) in Cuba Memorial Hospital. Born August 27, 1923 in Olean, NY he was the son of James and Helen L. Kreydt Boyle, Sr. On November 18, 1950 in Springbrook, NY he married Marjorie M. Kaufmann who predeceased him May 25, 2003. Mr. Boyle was a 1941 graduate of Olean High School and had attended St. Bonaventure University. He then served from 1943 until 1946 with the US Army during WWII. He had been employed by the New York Telephone Company in both Wellsville and Olean, retiring as central office foreman. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church, the Olean Knights of Columbus council #338 and the Olean American Legion Post #530. He enjoyed gardening and was a New York Mets fan. Surviving are 1 daughter Lynn Hardenbergh of Olean; 3 grandchildren Matthew Hardenbergh, James Hardenbergh and Holly Hardenbergh; 1 brother Don Boyle of Olean; 1 sister Molly (Peter) Covich of Rocky River, OH and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 6-9pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (July 10, 2009) beginning with a prayer service at 10:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Walsh Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
