Obituary of Janet Farleo

Janet R. Farleo Kennesaw, GA—Janet R. Farleo of 4150 George Busbee Parkway Apt 210 died Friday (February 22, 2008) in Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Born January 8, 1940 in Allegany she was the daughter of Francis J. and Hester M. Hamilton Hirsch. On March 7, 1959 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany she married Joseph F. Farleo who predeceased her May 2, 2005. Mrs. Farleo was a 1957 graduate of Allegany Central School and had resided in Olean and Portville prior to moving to Atlanta, GA in 1995. She had previously been employed as a ward secretary and operating room clerk at Olean General Hospital and in Atlanta was a data entry specialist with VWR International, retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Branches of Christ Church in Acworth, GA. She enjoyed socializing, reading and sewing but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are 4 children Julie (Chris) Pikulski of Olean, Joan (Steve) Rubin of Frisco, TX, Joe (Dorothy) Farleo of Acworth, GA and Jennifer (Jim) Callan of El Paso, TX; 9 grandchildren;1 great-granddaughter; 3 sisters Kay Screen of Tinton Falls, NJ, Gayle (Tim) Finlan of Thompson Station, TN and Cheri (Don) Giardini of Allegany and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a brother Larry Hirsch,a granddaughter Emily Pikulski and a brother-in-law Joe Screen. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday (March 29, 2008) at 11:00am at Casey,Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean. Fr. Brennan Joseph “Bill” Farleo, OFM, brother-in-law to Mrs. Farleo, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
