Obituary of Dorothy J. Youngs

Dorothy J. Youngs “Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother” Allegany, NY—Dorothy J. Youngs of 45 N. 5th St. passed away suddenly Friday (July 4, 2008) in the Olean General Hospital. Born June 19, 1930 in Wellsville, NY she was the daughter of Arthur and Florence Coots White. On July 1, 1950 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Olean she married Robert A. Youngs who survives. Mrs. Youngs had resided in Canandaigua years ago and had been a resident of Olean, and most recently, Allegany. She was a devoted, full time homemaker who also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and had been involved in many church activities over the years. She was very fond of cats and she especially loved having family gatherings. Surviving besides her husband are 3 children Deborah (Rev. Joachim) Wilck of Rochester, Rob (Kathy) Youngs of Canandaigua and Rick (Lisa) Youngs of Allegany; 5 grandchildren Emily Wilck, Sean Youngs, Kayla Youngs, Kara Youngs and Kristin Youngs; 5 great grandchildren Raehdon, Rayshawn, Teliah, Collin and Caleb and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson Timothy Wilck and a brother Donald White. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (July 8, 2008) at 10:00am in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Fr. Philip G. Houghton, rector, will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Engine Co.
