Obituary of Robert H. Eshelman

Robert H. Eshelman Connersville, IN-- Robert H. Eshelman, 81, of Connersville IN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday (November 7, 2008) at his home. He was born June 21, 1927, in Pittsburgh, PA, one of three children of George and Sarah Hopewell Eshelman. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant. On September 26, 1953, he married Mary Ellen Brahaney in Knapps Creek, NY. Mrs. Eshelman, predeceased him on May 12, 1998. A Marketing Engineer for Dresser Industries, he worked in Olean, for 13 years, and in 1969 he transferred to Chicago. In 1971, he moved to Connersville IN, and was employed by the Roots Connersville Blower Company until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of St. Gabriel Church in Connersville. Survivors include a daughter Dr. Lyn Marie (Mark) Irving of Rochester, NY; 2 sons COL. Mark J. (Joy) Eshelman of Carlisle, PA, Jon R.(Tara) Eshelman of Westminster, MA; eight grandchildren: Conor, Lauren, Kyle, Rachel, Leah, Paul, Alexander and Ellen; a brother COL. Charles Eshelman of Portville; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents and a sister Frances Dempsey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am, Wednesday November 12, 2008 in St. Gabriel Church with Rev. Robert E. Mazzola officiating. Family and friends may call at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home from 4-8pm on Tuesday, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:45pm. Family and Friends may also call the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road on Friday (November 14, 2008 from 1-2pm. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials if desired, may be made to the Fayette County Cancer Fund.
