Violet A. Miller “Loving Mom and Grandma” Olean-- Violet A. Miller, of 310 Laurens Street, passed away Saturday (December 6, 2008) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 1, 1926 in Olean, she was the daughter of David and Anna May Showers. She married David A. Miller in Olean, who predeceased her. Mrs. Miller was a house wife, who lovingly raised her 10 children. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. She is survived by 8 children Annamay (Rodney) Shaffer of Moncks Corner, SC, David A. (Betty) Miller II of Ceres, Ronald (Melody) Miller of Olean, Ricky E. Miller of Olean, Timothy J. (Debra) Miller of Rock Hill, SC, Wayne F. Miller of Jamestown, Bonnie F. Miller of Olean, Harold L. Miller of Olean; 2 sisters Ivy Kinnley of Jamestown, Bertha Ginnery of Oil City, PA; 1 brother William Showers of Olean; numerous grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by 1 son Francis M. Miller in 1960; 1 daughter Linda M. Miller in 1999; and a sister Izora Maynard. Friends will be received at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home on Wednesday (December 10, 2008) from 11am-12pm at which time funeral services will begin. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials if desired can be made to the American Heart Association PO Box 3049, Syracuse NY,13220.
