Jamar Alfonso Gayton Olean, NY--Funeral services for Jamar Alfonso Gayton, 1, of 119 S. 2nd St. will be held Saturday (January 3, 2009) at 1:00pm at Rock of Revelation Church 1009 Griffin St. in Olean. Rev. Jay Gilbert, pastor, will officiate. Jamar died Sunday (December 7, 2008) as a result of injuries sustained in a house fire at his parent’s residence. He was the son of Rachael Mehmel and Cecil Gayton. Surviving besides his parents are his brother Raemont Gayton and his sister Aaliyah Clark; his maternal family, including his grandmother Kelly Cassady of Wellsville; his grandfather Peter J. Mehmel of New York; a special aunt and uncle Maria and Christian Parks of Olean; a Godmother Venita Ellis of Olean; 3 uncles Alfonso Flores, Jr. of Olean and Jesse Clark and Jamie Clark of Scio; special cousins Kiana Parks, Kiara Parks, Khristian Parks and Marques Parks and several maternal aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his paternal family, including 2 aunts Vivian Thompson of Cleveland, OH and Gloria Allen of Bradford, PA. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Dixie Stainback and Harry Gayton. His sister Aubriana Michelle Gayton perished in the house fire with him. Memorials may be made to the Gayton Family Fund C/O Community Bank 500 Delaware Ave. Olean, NY 14760. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
