Helen M. Birmingham Salamanca, NY—Helen M. Birmingham of the Nies Block Apartments died Sunday (June 17, 2007) in the Olean General Hospital. Born July 21, 1941 in Allegany, NY she was the daughter of Edward and Celestine Conlan Birmingham. Miss Birmingham was a 1959 graduate of Allegany Central School and formerly resided in Allegany, NY and Texas. Surviving are 1 daughter Maria Elena (Randy) Peplinski of Great Valley, NY; 2 grandchildren Chantel Peplinski and Jordan Peplinski; 4 brothers Richard (Berni) Birmingham of Rochester, Gerald (Marge) Birmingham of Victor, Thomas (Ruth) Birmingham of Amherst and Kevin Birmingham of Modesto, CA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters Marjorie Kettle and Donna Furnia. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Wednesday (June 20, 2007) from 11:00am until 12:30pm at which time a prayer service will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00pm in St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Cattaraugus County Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse 1 Leo Moss Drive Olean, NY 14760.
