Helen A. Tilburg Olean, NY—Helen A. Tilburg, formerly of Stowell Ave. died Monday (June 18, 2007) in Sena Kean Manor in Smethport, PA. Born April 24, 1918 in Knapp’s Creek she was the daughter of Clayton H. and Florence A. Feneran Pierce. On June 27, 1947 in Allegany she married David G. Tilburg who passed away October 17, 1982. Mrs. Tilburg was a 1937 graduate of Otto Township High School and resided in Derrick City until moving to Olean in 1983. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church in Knapp’s Creek and was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean. Surviving 1 brother Harold L. Pierce of Olean and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a sister Irene M. Galloway in 1997. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Thursday from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Friday (June 22, 2007) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
