Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Olean, NY George F. Harrier, III, 38, of 706 Washington St. passed away Sunday (November 6, 2016). Born July 10, 1978 in Olean he was the son of Calvin and Sherry Ozogar Weeks. He attended Olean High School and completed his senior year at Pioneer Central School, graduating in 1996. He had been employed for several area restaurants and also in Charlotte, NC. He attended St. Mary of the Angels Church while growing up and had always loved gardening and planting and growing trees. He also was skilled at woodworking, enjoyed golfing and loved animals. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews and cousins. George was a very loving and kind person, always there to help his family and friends, always with the best of intentions to do what was best for those around him, never feeling people should go out of their way to help him. He had an incurable illness that was a constant threat to his well being. There is no humiliation in this. He just could not take his role in this world any longer. Surviving besides his parents are his siblings Roseanne (Tim) Hopkins of Endicott, Gregory (Jane Fuller) Harrier of Olean, Leigha Weeks of San Jose, CA and Shevon Weeks of Olean; aunts and uncles Edward (Samantha) Ozogar, Michael (Laura) Ozogar, Victor (Tami) Ozogar, Sandra (Todd) Aiton, Beverly Weeks, Pearl Bowker and Manuel Colon and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Victor and Jean Ozogar; his paternal grandparents Oliver and Cora Weeks and an aunt Deborah Carson. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Thursday (November 10, 2016) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations will be gratefully accepted by the family to help defray funeral expenses and may be directed to George's parents Calvin and Sherry Weeks, 706 Washington St. Olean, NY 14760. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
