Shelly L. Helman "Loving friend, daughter, sister and aunt" Olean, NY Shelly L. Helman of 123 Orleans Ave. passed away unexpectedly Sunday (July 17, 2016) at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Born July 20, 1965 in Olean she was the daughter of James and Sharon Havers Helman. Shelly was a graduate of Olean High School and for several years was employed by SubCon Industries in Olean. She was always one who enjoyed the friendship of others and found that connection with people through the former Back Door Club and with her friend Sadie Edwards through the Compeer program. She liked to crochet and do word search puzzles. Surviving are her long-time companion Margie Collins; her parents of Olean; 3 brothers Jim (Rae Lynn) Helman of Batavia, Kelly (Deanna) Helman of Zephyr Hills, FL and Jeffrey Helman of Batavia; 1 sister Heidi Helman of Olean and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Wednesday (July 20, 2016) from 5-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. A celebration of life service will begin at 7pm, officiated by Pastor Craig Querns of Harvest Field Ministries. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Field Ministries, 406 W State St, Olean, NY 14760.
