Obituary of Jeanne Landries

"Avid Sports Fan" Olean-- Jeanne L. Landries of 541 King Street, passed away Friday (June 19, 2009) peacefully at the Olean General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Born April 3, 1950, in Salamanca, NY, she was the daughter of Jack and June Wunch Winsor. On June 29, 1974 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Salamanca, she married Donald Landries, who survives. Mrs. Landries and her husband were 33 year residents of Olean. She was a 1968 graduate of Salamanca City Schools and a past member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Salamanca. She enjoyed fishing, camping, watching sports and was an avid NASCAR Fan. She loved all animals, especially her dog Corky. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband, is her mom of Salamanca; one son Matthew (Lynn) Landries of Kane, PA; 2 grandchildren Michael and Nathan Landries of Kane, PA; 2 sisters Betty Winsor of West Clarksville, Cindy Winsor of Allegany; and 1 brother Fred Winsor of Salamanca. She was predeceased by her dad. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday (June 22, 2009) at 11am at the funeral home. Rev. Frank Hayman, pastor of the Allegany Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Salamanca. Memorials if desired, may be made to the SPCA 2944 Olean- Hinsdale Road, Olean, NY 14760 or to Joyful Rescues 1319 Turock Road, Cuba NY 14727
