Obituary of Elizabeth Marowski

Olean-Elizabeth A. "Betty" Marowski, of 500 E. Spring Street, Aspen Manor, passed away Friday (March 27, 2009) at the Olean General Hospital, after a brief illness. Born October 18, 1929, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of Walter and Josephine Vincoski Lewicki. On June 17, 1950, in Salamanca, she married Walter A. Marowski, Jr., who predeceased her on August 18, 1985. Mrs. Marowski attended Salamanca City Schools, and had resided in Olean for most of her life. She worked for several years as a waitress at the former Olean House. She was a member of St. Marys of the Angels Church. Surviving is one son Gary A. (Mary) Marowski of Jamestown, NY; three grandchildren; one brother Donald (Helen) Lewicki of Olean; one sister Delphine Puvel of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by four brothers Ferdinand Lewicki, Leonard Lewicki, Edwin Lewicki, and Richard Lewicki and two sisters Lorraine Lewicki and Eleanor Doggett; and 1 great-granddaughter Robin Bellardo Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road on Monday from 2-5pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday (March 31, 2009) at St. Mary of the Angels Church at 10am. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to St. Mary of the Angeles Church 202 S. Union Street, Olean, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
