Albert L. Wagner, Jr. Olean, NY-Albert L. Wagner, Jr. of 226 � N. 5th St. died today (March 11, 2009) in the Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Olean after a long illness. Born June 14, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA he was the son of Albert L. and Catherine Wetzel Wagner, Sr. On May 28, 1949 in Etna, PA he married Ruth L. Robbins who survives. Mr. Wagner was a graduate of Shaler High School in Glenshaw, PA. He enlisted in the US Navy where he served during WWII from 1942 to 1946. He participated in the liberation of the Philippine Islands in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He first worked as a district manager for Ford Motor Co. He moved to Olean in 1970 and worked for 16 years as the project coordinator for the Olean Housing Authority, retiring in 1986. He had been employed as a driver for Olean Limousine Service for ten years. He was a member of St. John's Church and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving besides his wife of 60 years are 1 daughter Deborah Farber of Danbury, CN; 2 sons Raymond (Kristen) Wagner of Groton and David (Tamara) Wagner of Cuba; 5 grandchildren Stephen Wagner, Joseph Wagner, Grace Wagner, Michelle Farber and Benjamin Farber and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers George Emic and Sylvester Wagner and 1 sister Lois Wagner. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig &amp; Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Friday from 2-4 &amp; 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday (March 14, 2009) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. John's Church. Msgr. William Wangler will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery with full military honors being accorded by members of the Allegany American Legion Ritual Team. A vigil wake service will be held on Friday at 8:30pm in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Olean VFW Post 1619 or to St. John's Church 931 N. Union St. Olean, NY 14760. <h3>Visitation</h3> Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the funeral home. <h3>Services</h3> Saturday (March 14, 2009) at St. John&#39;s Church 931 N. Union St. in Olean <h3>Interment</h3> St. Bonaventure Cemetery with full military honors accorded at the grave.
