Rose Cecelia Bothwell Allegany, NY-Rose Cecelia Bothwell of 2510 W. Five Mile Road, passed away suddenly Sunday (January 18, 2009) at the Olean General Hospital. Born October 27, 1918 in Gowanda, NY she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Simnovec Zuzek. Mrs. Bothwell was a graduate of Gowanda High School. She attended Pratt Institute in New York City and later enlisted in the Women's Air Force Corps, where she met her husband Edward Bothwell. On June 14, 1944 in Alliance Nebraska they married. Together they shared 64 years of marriage, before his passing on August 9, 2008. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening and growing and canning her own vegetables. Rose also loved animals; especially her cats Lily and Phoebe and watching birds. Surviving are her 2 daughters Susan Bothwell of Denver, CO and Mary Bothwell of Nashville, TN; 1 son William (Marlene) Bothwell of Olean; 1 sister Agnes DePoo of Key West, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by 2 sisters Mary and Frances; and 1 brother Henry. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Today ( Tuesday January 20, 2009) at 1 pm at St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. Richard Husted OFM, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials if desired, may be made to the SPCA 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Road, Olean NY 14760 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
