Charanjit, known as Neena to all who knew and loved her, was born in June of 1954 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Mehar Singh and Raj Kaur. The eldest of five children, Neena was not only a sibling but a protective and caring figure to her three sisters and one brother. Neena first met Rajan Gulati while he was traveling in Malaysia. They later married in his hometown of New Delhi, India, on Christmas Day 1976. She and Rajan moved to New York City in 1977, where their first child Rahul was born a year later. In 1981 they established their roots in the Allegany/Olean area, where their second child Neesha was born in 1989. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Neena led a quiet life where she focused on her spirituality and personal growth. As such, she found happiness in raising her children, being a devoted wife, and treasuring her family and friendships. She brought immense joy to those who knew her and enjoyed helping others in the community.
