Obituary of Anne M. Howard

Anne Marie “Annie” Howard Olean, NY Anne Marie “Annie” Howard, 43, of 510 N. 4th St., passed away peacefully Thursday (February 23, 2023) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo. She was surrounded by love in the presence of her husband, sons, and family after her courageous battle with lung cancer. Born October 16, 1979 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Ken and Rosalie Prymak VanDeWalker. On September 1, 2001 at Christ United Methodist Church in Olean she married her best friend Terry Howard who survives. Annie was a 1997 graduate of Allegany Limestone Central School. She had been employed for 10 years at the former AVX Corp. in Olean. She loved many activities, including shopping, sitting on a beach, and traveling for vacations to different states like Florida, NJ, NC & WV with Colorado being her favorite. Most importantly, she loved watching her boys at the skate parks where she could sit and watch while enjoying the sun, warm weather and a Starbucks or “Horties” iced capp. She leaves behind her devoted husband Terry; 2 sons Alex Howard and Ryan Howard; her parents of Olean; 3 siblings Kenny (Michelle) VanDeWalker of Hamburg, Debbie (Joe) Kwiatkowski of Olean, and Mike VanDeWalker of Olean and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family invites friends to a memorial gathering to be held Friday (March 10, 2023) from 5-6:30 pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A prayer service led by Tom Carlson Jr. will begin at 6:30pm in the funeral home. A private burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olean at a later date. A celebration of life gathering will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorials to be made to a mental health or suicide prevention organization of the donor’s choice.
