Obituary of Maureen A. Batesky

Maureen A. “Reenie” Batesky Allegany, NY Maureen A. “Reenie” Batesky, 66, of 115 N. 5th St., passed away Tuesday (January 17, 2023) at the Buffalo General Medical Center. Born August 8, 1956 in Olean, she was the daughter of Raymond J. and Cecelia V. Wojcik Davis. On August 7, 1976 at the St. Bonaventure University Chapel in Allegany, she married Joseph Batesky who survives. Reenie was a graduate of Olean High School and also St. Bonaventure University where she received a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She worked for 10 years as a case manager for the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging, and later as a real estate agent for the former Jones Realty Co. in Olean prior to her retirement. She was a longtime member of the former Transfiguration Church in Olean. What she treasured most was her family, her circle of close friends, and her beloved pets. She leaves behind her husband Joe of 46 years; a son Adam Batesky of Olean; 2 brothers Francis Wojcik of California, and Michael Davis of Pompano Beach, FL; 2 sisters Mary Vesotski and Marcie (Jeff) Wallen, both of Allegany, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 2 brothers Gerald Davis and Joseph Davis, and 2 sisters Patricia Berical and Roxanne Burgess. The family welcomes friends to a memorial mass to be celebrated on Friday (January 20, 2023) at 11am in St. Bonaventure Church, Allegany. Rev. Michael Reyes, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, 2944 Olean-Hinsdale Rd., Olean, NY 14760. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
