Potter, 91, of 3606 Buffalo Rd., passed away Saturday (February 6, 2021) at the Olean General Hospital. Born July 29, 1929 in Venango County, PA, she was the daughter of Eugene and Marlene (nee) Baker Brandon. On September 23, 1951 in Olean, she married Leneal R. Potter who predeceased her February 14, 2002. June was a 1947 graduate of Olean High School. She raised her family and later worked for over 20 years as an executive secretary to a vice president at Dresser Industries. She took joy in leading Bible studies with other female employees during their shared lunchtimes. She, along with her husband and 5 other families, established the Allegany Baptist Church in 1960 where she remained a member for the past 60 years. Surviving are 4 children William (Leslie) Potter of Woodstock, VA, Mary Beth (Tim) Buhr of Woolwich Township, NJ, John "Butch" (Ginny) Potter of Cedarville, OH and Laurie (Paul) Muckley of Sugar Creek, OH; 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a twin brother Eugene Brandon and a sister Helen Provan. A private burial ceremony will take place at Allegany Cemetery on Monday (February 16, 2021). A memorial service will follow at the Allegany Baptist Church, beginning at 11am. Regrettably, due to seating restrictions, attendance will be limited to family only. Officiating the service will be former pastor and family friend, Rev. Frank Hayman, assisted by Ward Near. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Allegany Baptist Church, 3236 Maple Ave, Allegany, NY 14706. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
