Mary E. Rybicki
Olean, NY Mary E. Rybicki, 92, of 836 Prospect Ave. passed away peacefully Thursday (May 2, 2019) at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born April 29, 1927 in Olean she was the daughter of Thomas and Melvina Russell Smith. On August 29, 1953 at St. John's Church in Olean she married Raymond P. Rybicki who predeceased her May 8, 2006.
Mrs. Rybicki was a lifelong resident of Olean and graduated from Olean High School. Soon after, she began employment with the former First National Bank, later Manufacturers Hanover Bank in Olean where she worked for 8 years prior to her marriage in 1953. She then was a stay at home mother and took pride in raising her 6 children.
She was a former member of St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean. Her most enjoyable hobby was creating beautiful flower gardens all about her yard.
Surviving are 6 children Diane (Pete) DePalma, Steven (Anne) Rybicki, Nannette Ramadhan, Suzanne LeRoy, Laurie Haas and Raymond (Donalyn) Rybicki, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Beverly Smith and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a brother Gene Smith.
Friends will be received on Wednesday (May 8, 2019) from 10am until 11am at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will begin at 11am in the funeral home, followed by burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
