Bruce H. Moody
Chiefland, FL Bruce H. Moody, a native and longtime resident of Millport, PA passed away Friday (September 14, 2018) in Shands Cancer Hospital in Gainesville, FL after fighting a long, courageous battle with throat cancer.
Born March 8, 1933 he was the son of Frank O. and Margaret Blauvelt Moody.
Bruce worked on his family's farm as a young adult and entered the US Army where he served from 1952-1954. After his honorable discharge he returned to the farm for a period of time. He then worked for West Brothers (now Gas Field Specialists) and retired in 1997.
He moved to Chiefland, FL where he worked on a dairy farm until he was well into his 70's, retiring in 2008.
Surviving are 2 daughters Denise Moody of PA and Julie Olson of Chiefland, FL; 1 grandson Justin Giardini of Chiefland; 2 great grandchildren Liam Giardini and Rilynn Giardini; 1 sister Jane Williams of Olean; 3 nieces Cindy Wilson, Cathy Stuckey and Pam Stuckey, all of Olean and 1 nephew Frank Williams, Jr. of Olean.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers-in-law Frank Williams, Sr. and William Stuckey.
A graveside memorial service will be held, followed by a celebration of life service in Chiefland at a later date.
