Patricia C. Quigley

Allegany, NY     Patricia C. Quigley of 129 N. 3rd St. passed away peacefully Saturday (September 8, 2018) at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded in the loving presence of her family.

Born April 16, 1942 in Cuba she was the daughter of Morris Straight and Ruby M. Skinner Straight Riesman.  On September 14, 1963 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean she married Michael R. Quigley who predeceased her December 4, 2017.

Patricia was a 1960 graduate of Friendship Central School.  Prior to her marriage to Michael she worked at the former Bradner's Department Store.  She later worked at the former Big N in Allegany and at the Allegany Nursing Home in the 1970's.  For 25 years she worked as the head seamstress for John Ash Cleaners prior to her retirement.

She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church.  In the 1970's she served as a leader for the Campfire Council.  She and Michael were both very active athletically and together they enjoyed traveling, bicycling, fishing and cross-country skiing.  They made a memorable coast-to-coast bicycle trip across Ireland.  Anytime she was either cooking or gardening were happy times for her but most importantly, she brought a happy smile to anyone she met and was loved by all, especially her family.

She is survived by a son Daniel (Monica) Quigley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a daughter Susan Quigley of Allegany; 4 grandchildren Allison Lindquist, Shane Lindquist, Olivia Lindquist and Glen Patrick Quigley; 2 sisters Nancy Moulton of Norfolk, VA and Shirley Straight of Jamestown; 1 brother Stanley (Sherry) Straight of Darlington, PA and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and a brother Phillip Straight.

Friends will be received on Monday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean.  A prayer service will be held Tuesday (September 11, 2018) at 9am in the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30am at St. Bonaventure Church.  Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant.  Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
