Raymond J. Kyser
ALLEGANY, NY       Raymond  J. Kyser of 2278 Valley View Dr. died Wednesday (January 17, 2018) at the Olean General  Hospital Emergency Room with his loving family by his side.
Born April 24, 1935 in Olean, he was the son of the late Edward and G. Onnolee Austin Kyser.   He was married to Mary Lou MaCauley who predeceased him in August 1968.  On November 22, 1969 in Salamanca at the former Holy Cross RC Church, he married Janet M. Prybylo, who survives.
Ray was a graduate of Allegany Central School, Class of 1952 and then attended St. Bonaventure University.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until his honorable discharge in February 1964.  Most of his service duty was spent in Germany.  He retired as a Purchasing Agent from Dresser-Rand Co., Olean after 42 years of service.  
In his earlier years, Ray was on the championship Dresser Clark bowling team and also loved playing racquetball with co-workers and friends.  He was a member of the former Showers United Methodist Church in Olean and sang in the church choir until its closing.  He also enjoyed membership in the Dresser Clark/Rand Retirees group, the Allegany 60+ Organization and was a life member of the Pulaski Club of Olean.
Ray loved to travel and visited most of our beautiful 50 states.  He enjoyed family vacations and family holiday gatherings; but most of all loved and enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren’s school and sport activities.  He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills, and St. Bonaventure men and women’s basketball teams.  He and his wife have been St. Bonaventure basketball season ticket holders for over 45 years.
Ray is survived by his wife of 48 years and four children – Lori Kyser and husband Ali Ameli of Holliston, MA; Dr. Kathy Kyser and husband Paul Miller of Okinawa, Japan; Dan Kyser and wife Kristen of Severna Park, MD; and Molly Walton and husband Keith of Painted Post, NY. Also surviving are four grandchildren - Bijan and Ariana Ameli and Tully and Brynn Walton; one brother, Alan Kyser and wife Mary Lou of Olean;  a brother-in-law, Don Fisher of Severna Park, MD; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, Ron Kyser, and two sisters - Virginia Kyser, who passed as a young child, and Marilyn Fisher.
Friends are invited to call from 1-3 & 6-8pm on Saturday at the Casey, Halwig, & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean.    A memorial service will be held on Sunday (January 21, 2018) at 1:00pm at St. Bonaventure Church with the Rev. James Vacco officiating.  Burial will take place Monday at 10am in the Allegany Cemetery.  Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the Allegany American Legion Ritual Team.
