Philomena J. "Mimi" Aiello
Allegany, NY Philomena J. "Mimi" Aiello of Allegany passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (January 2, 2018) at Buffalo General Hospital.
Born in Olean, she was the daughter of Peter and Rose Vitale Aiello.
Philomena was a graduate of Olean High School and worked her entire career for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Olean until her retirement.
She was an active parishioner of St. John's Church in Olean and she always kept physically active by walking and bicycling. Most important to her over the years was her beloved family of siblings, nieces and nephews whom she hosted meals with in her home as well as took on shopping adventures, including trips to the stores in Buffalo.
Surviving are her many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of great nieces and nephews, including Elizabeth Lemmer, Robert Howard and Terri Howard.
She was predeceased by 4 brothers Dennis Aiello, Frank Aiello, John Aiello and Richard Aiello; a niece Rose Aiello Howard and a nephew James Aiello.
Friends will be received on Friday from 5-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday (January 6, 2018) beginning with a prayer service at 10am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. John's Church. Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
