Obituary of Raymond P. Rybicki

Raymond P. Rybicki Olean, NY-- Raymond P. Rybicki of 836 Prospect Ave. died Monday (May 8, 2006) in the Olean General Hospital after a long illness. Born January 15, 1931 in Olean, NY he was the son of John and Jane Yonder Rybicki. On August 29, 1953 at St. John’s Church in Olean he married Mary E. Smith who survives. Mr. Rybicki was a lifelong resident of Olean and was a graduate of Olean High School. He had been employed by the US Post Office, working first as a substitute mail carrier in 1949, and upon retirement in 1986 was the superintendent of postal operations. He was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church and was a first degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #338 in Olean. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Surviving besides his wife are 6 children Diane (Pete) !DePalma, Steven (Anne) Rybicki, Nanette Ramadhan, Suzanne (Christopher) !LeRoy, Laurie Haas and Raymond (Donalyn) Rybicki, Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Loretto (Robert) Ranallo of Reno, NV and Patricia Robinson of Smethport, PA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday (May 10, 2006) at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
