Obituary of Dr. Douglas B. Borromeo

Dr. Douglas B. Borromeo Allegany, NY Dr. Douglas B. Borromeo, of Allegany, entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday (August 12, 2026). Dr. Borromeo was born in the Philippines and lived in the United States most of his adult life. For over forty years he worked as an anesthesiologist, first in Watertown and later Olean, prior to his retirement in 2015. He relaxed by fishing, and by playing many rounds of golf over the years. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia; three sons; a daughter-in-law; two grandchildren; one sister, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers. The family will receive friends on Saturday (August 22, 2026) from 10am to 11:30am at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels in Olean. A funeral mass will begin at 11:30am in the church, with Rev. David Tourville, pastor, as the celebrant. Memorials may be made to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, 202 S. Union St., Olean, NY 14760, or to St. John’s Church, 931 N.
