Edward "Ed" Savage Olean, NY Edward “Ed” Savage, born July 1, 1962, in Buffalo, New York, passed away leaving behind a legacy of connection and kindness. He was the beloved son of Betty Jean Savage and Willie Malone. Ed spent his early years in Buffalo, where he attended school. In adulthood, he made his home in Olean, New York, residing with Intandem at 483 Prospect Avenue for many years. While living in Olean, Ed became a cherished member of his community. He formed lasting bonds with his peers and caregivers, creating meaningful relationships that enriched his life and the lives of those around him. His presence brought comfort, familiarity, and a sense of humor to all who knew him. Ed had a playful, fun-loving personality and a quiet, quick wit. He truly enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays, and you could often find him sitting on the front porch—rain or shine, even in the snow- taking in the world around him. He had a special love for animals, enjoyed playing chess or checkers, doing crafts, listening to music and he was always ready for a good party or a new adventure. Though he was a quiet man, Ed had a contagious laugh and a million-dollar smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Ed was proud to be an active participant in several support programs, including the Continuing Day Treatment Program, Lifeskills, and Foundations for Change in Olean. Through these experiences, Ed found purpose, routine, and companionship, and he was deeply valued by staff and fellow participants alike. Ed will be remembered for his gentle nature, his ability to connect with others, and the strong relationships he built throughout his life. He is survived by his siblings, Wilbert Kelly, Jon King, Sonya Savage, and Betty Savage; as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and caregivers who will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be held at Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean, New York. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following. His life is a reminder of the importance of kindness, inclusion, and the lasting impact of belonging. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
