Obituary of Dorothy M. Hall

Dorothy M. Hall Allegany, NY Dorothy M. Hall, 92, of Allegany, passed away at her home on Tuesday (May 12, 2026). Born October 18, 1934 in Bradford, PA, she was one of three daughters born to Lawrence R. and Anne Gault McGraw. On February 12, 1955 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany, she married David E. Hall who predeceased her October 5, 2023. Dorothy was a graduate of Olean High School. She worked first for Key Bank and later for the Social Security office, both in Olean. She most enjoyed raising her family and traveling to visit grandchildren and also took pleasure in bird watching and gardening. She leaves behind her two sons, Lawrence Hall of Darlington, MD, and David (Nancy) Hall of Westminster, CO; four grandchildren, Jessica (Will) Jones of Strasburg, CO, James Hall of Westminster, CO, Ashley Hall of Darlington, MD, and Christian Hall of West LaFayette, OH; one great granddaughter, Faye Olivia Jones of Strasburg, OH, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia McGraw Mealey, and Shirley McGraw Nenno. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery next to her husband David. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are with the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
