Obituary of Matt Lippert, Jr.

Allegany, NY- Matthew H. Lippert, Jr., 55, passed away at his home Saturday (January 10, 2026) with his loving family by his side after a long battle with ALS. Born October 23, 1970, in Olean, he was the son of Matthew and Cathy Grove Lippert, Sr. On July 31, 1999, at St. Bonaventure Church, he married Jeanne Dunn, who survives. Matt went to Allegany Central School and attended and wrestled for Niagara County Community College. He worked for Union Concrete Construction with the Local 621 Labor Union. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. In his free time, he was a safety patrol officer for Holiday Valley. He enjoyed skiing, hunting, riding side by sides, socializing with friends, and hosting parties. Most importantly, Matt enjoyed the time that he spent with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother Cathy Lippert of Allegany; his children Josh Lippert of Allegany, Allison Lippert of Machias, Jake Lippert of Allegany, Madeline Lippert of Niagara Falls, and Emily Lippert of Allegany; 1 granddaughter Evelyn Magaddino of Niagara Falls; 2 siblings Melissa "Missy" Dennis of Allegany and Stephen (Nikki) Lippert of Charlotte, NC, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Matthew Lippert, Sr., in February of 2021. The family will be receiving friends Friday (January 16, 2026) from 1pm to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10 am at St. Bonaventure Church, 95 E Main St., Allegany. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Homecare and Hospice, 115 E.
