Obituary of Loretta B. Riehle

Loretta B. Riehle Allegany, NY Loretta B. Riehle, 96, passed away peacefully Friday (December 19, 2025) at the Absolut of Allegany. Born January 28, 1929 in Allegany, she was the daughter of Floyd and Helen Geise Putt. On June 30, 1948 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany she married Vincent R. Riehle who passed away December 20, 2015. For many years, Loretta worked as a salesperson for the former Geary’s Furniture Stores in Allegany and also as a court clerk for the Town of Allegany. She was a longtime member of St. Bonaventure Church and was also a member of the Allegany American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by one daughter, Susan E. (Michael) Rose of Georgia; two sons, Michael (Leslie) Riehle and Robert (Ruthe) Riehle, both of Allegany; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Albert (Pam) Putt, and Charles Putt, both of Allegany, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Robert J. Putt, and Floyd J. Putt. The family will receive friends on Saturday (December 27, 2025) from 10am until noon at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. The service will begin at noon with Fr. Dennis J. J. Mancuso officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Fire Department, Attn: Donations Committee, 188 W. Main St., Allegany, NY 14706.
