Obituary of Donald B. Murray

Donald B. Murray Cuba, NY Donald B. Murray, 72, of Haskell Rd., passed away peacefully on Thursday (November 27, 2025) after a long illness. Born December 13, 1952 in Belmont, he was the son of Dianne Trowbridge Murray. On September 24, 2019 in Florida, he married Cathy L. Havers who survives. Donald began working as a welder at the former Clark Bros. in Olean, later working as a truck driver for various companies including Portville Forest Products where he supervised a crew of loggers, and for Buffalo Engine Co. when he lived in Orchard Park. His job brought him to many parts of the United States. He was a lifelong outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association. He leaves behind his loving wife Cathy; his mother Dianne of Bolivar; one son, Ben (Danielle) Murray of Bolivar; one daughter, Beth Murray of Bolivar; six grandsons, Tyler Murray, Ryan Witter, Kyle Witter, Hunter Murray, Chase Murray, and Dustin Murray; one granddaughter, Jontelle Pennington; one sister, Judy McVay of Buffalo; two stepdaughters, Tammy Lanier of Olean, and Tonya Borton of Limestone; seven step grandchildren, and several cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Murray. The family invites friends to a celebration of Donald’s life on Saturday (December 13, 2025) at the Richburg Rod and Gun Club, 2350 NY-275, Richburg beginning at 1pm and continuing through the afternoon. Arrangements are with the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
