Obituary of Bridgette L. Cummings

Bridgette L. Cummings Olean, NY Bridgette L. Cummings, 42, of N. 15th St., passed away Sunday (July 6, 2025) at the Olean General Hospital after an illness of the past month. Born June 18, 1983 in Olean, she was the beloved daughter of Vickie Ross Osten. Bridgette attended the Miami Dade College art program and was passionate about art, particularly drawing. She was well-spoken and loved to read and write. She also earned her cosmetology license from the Continental School of Beauty. She worked for a time in various retail stores in Olean, but she was particularly devoted to raising her family with good, strong values. She treasured her long-term relationship with Aaron Geise and together they made a loving home where Bridgette could devote herself to her home and her children. She also loved pets, particularly her beloved cat “Mr. Furs.” In addition to her mother Vickie (Dr. Michael Bell) Osten of Florida, she leaves behind her companion Aaron Geise; 3 children, Makenna “Mikey” Cummings, Draven Cummings, and Asher Cummings, all of Olean; 3 siblings, Dave Zawatski of Key Largo, FL, Dana (Richard) Hopkins of Burlington, NC, and Brian Zawatski of Salamanca, and many nieces and nephews. There are also many friends, especially Amanda Perez, and many other family members. She was predeceased by a stepfather, Louis Osten. To everyone for whom Bridgette was so special, her children say, “Thank you for loving my mother.” A celebration of Bridgette’s life is being planned by the family for late August and will be announced via Facebook and by a future notice in the Times Herald.
